Hey, don’t knock free pancakes, especially when they’re for charity.
Tomorrow (Tuesday, March 1), IHOP will roll out its annual freebie event, to benefit the Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland. Free buttermilk pancakes will be available from 7am to 10pm (that’s a long time) at all participating IHOP locations — including both San Francisco locations on Lombard Street and on the Wharf.
Last year, IHOP served over four million free pancakes, raising $2.1 million. This year, the goal is to top that number and reach $2.3 million. So go have a standard pancake on the Wharf, make a donation and then go look at the sea lions or something.
(Sidenote: Dear America, with Margarita Day and Tortilla Chip Day last week, enough with the “National ___ Days.” Publicists need something to write about between Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day, but let’s give it a break.)
